A New Jersey man who obtained fraudulent driver's license photos by wearing a curly, orange wig to steal millions in a pair of COVID fraud schemes has been sentenced to nearly seven years in federal prison. Eric M. Jaklitsch, of Elizabeth, received a six year, nine month sentence after stealing nearly $4.2 million, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California said Tuesday. Jaklitsch applied for unemployment fraudulently in California after obtaining names, birth dates, and Social Security number from the dark web between October 2020 and November 2021, prosecutors said.
